On Sunday, August 24th, Tropea celebrates its history with the Historical Parade, a grand reenactment of the city's liberation from the rule of the Ruffo family in 1615. A solemn and spectacular event organized by the Libertas Association.
The Star: The History of Tropea
The parade is a true living museum. Dozens of figures in period costumes will parade through the streets of the historic center, portraying nobles, soldiers, commoners, and the key figures of that historical period. The reenactment tells the story of the pride of a city that reclaimed its freedom.
